Free Arctic Word Sort

Here are some activities to develop vocabulary using Arctic Animals as a theme.  If your students need background information, National Geographic has a collection of short videos.  Just use the search box at the top right corner.  Most videos are just a few minutes long.  I recommend previewing them for your group, because some are graphic.

The Arctic Vocabulary Unit has a word list that may be cut apart into cards.  The next two pages are sorting sheets by number of syllables and parts of speech.  Students can cut and paste the words or write them on the sorting sheets.  The final page lists two poetry forms and a sample of each.
